Softball Recap: Mott Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mott extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 19-4-1 in the process. They came out on top against the Cousino Patriots by a score of 8-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-8 back in April.

As for Cousino, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

For Cousino's part, Giavanna Gacaferi was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that Gacaferi has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Davi Wieczorek, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Mott will be playing at home against Oakland Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.85 runs per game on average), something the Marauders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cousino, they will challenge Rochester at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
