Harrells Christian Academy is 1-7 against Wayne Christian since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Crusaders blew past the Bulldogs 13-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Crusaders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Regan Cannon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Breelyn Peed, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Izzy Bradshaw was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Harrells Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wake Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .235.

Meanwhile, Wayne Christian fell victim to Cape Fear Christian Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against Cape Fear Christian Academy, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this season in which Wayne Christian was not able to get on the board.

Wayne Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Harrells Christian Academy, their record now sits at 4-6.

Harrells Christian Academy couldn't quite finish off Wayne Christian when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
