Softball Recap: Nova Comes Up Short

Nova lost against Chaminade-Madonna back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Nova Titans came up short against the Chaminade-Madonna Lions, falling 23-9. That's two games in a row now that the Titans have lost by exactly 14 runs.

Rehana Pierre and Jada Corbin stepped up to the plate in a big way. Pierre scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Corbin scored four runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Pierre a new career-high. Antonalla Metayer also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Nova dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Chaminade-Madonna, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5.

Nova wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 20-0 win against Blanche Ely on the 12th. As for Chaminade-Madonna, they will take on Lourdes Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Lourdes Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
