The Poolesville Falcons's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 47-16 win over Watkins Mill. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Poolesville also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Leading Poolesville to victory were Hartke Carson and Breanna Salovich. Carson scored 13 points along with four steals, while Salovich scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofelkanik Laney, who scored eight points.
Poolesville now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Watkins Mill, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poolesville will be home for the holidays to greet Damascus at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Watkins Mill will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wootton at 7:15 p.m. on January 23, 2024.
