Austin is 2-8 against Waltrip since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Austin Mustangs will be home for the holidays to greet the Waltrip Rams at 10:00 a.m. Austin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Austin has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Milby 52-22 on the road.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Waltrip, who are still winless after their tenth match. They were outmatched by Galena Park on the road and fell 55-12. Waltrip was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-6.
Austin's victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-5. As for Waltrip, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-10.
Austin suffered a grim 41-19 defeat to Waltrip in their previous meeting back in February. Can Austin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
