The biggest upset of the week belonged to Keller, who took down 312th ranked Fossil Ridge, 24-7. Dalton Mills threw for 14 yards and one touchdown, ran for 136 yards and caught three passes for 25 yards in the win.
Haltom moved up to 506 from 644 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region I District 4. The Buffalos climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Northwest 24-21.
Carroll's dynamic duo of Kenny Hill and Mike Gardiner proved tough for Richland to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hill threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns and Gardiner had 125 yards receiving. Luke Timian helped Carroll's passing attack out by catching three balls for 68 yards.
Jake McClurg was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 149 yards as Keller Central bested the Rebels. Teammate Naythan Steele added to the ground attack by rushing for 28 yards.
On the ground, the Indians' Mills has rushed for 626 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Adonis Ramos. The Fossil Ridge star has 35 catches for 460 yards.
The top two teams in 5A Region I District 4 will face off this week when first place Carroll takes on second place Northwest. Carroll topped Richland last week, while the Texans bested Haltom.
Next week's game between Hal Wasson's team and Northwest will feature a tantalizing aerial matchup as Hill tests his arm against Sam Jennings's defensive ability. Carroll's Hill has thrown for 1326 yards and 11 touchdowns this year, while Jennings has racked up four interceptions for Bill Patterson's team.
There should be lots of points scored when Carroll and the Texans face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Dragons comes in having scored 284 this season, while Northwest has scored 169. Carroll scored 63 points last week as it defeated Ged Kates' team.
