North Adams is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and McClain a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The North Adams Green Devils will host the McClain Tigers at 5:00 p.m. North Adams has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
North Adams will face McClain after dropping another heartbreaker against Manchester on Tuesday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 2.1 of beating them. The Green Devils came up short against the Greyhounds, falling 11-4.
Meanwhile, McClain had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Washington 11-1 on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Cohen Six was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because McClain is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 0-7 otherwise. Six was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hudson Lovett, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Ary, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
McClain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
North Adams' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for McClain, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-8.
North Adams suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to McClain when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Green Devils have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
