Basketball Recap: Southwest Legacy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jordan Rodriguez and David Cavazos

After flying high against Lopez on Thursday, Southwest Legacy came back down to earth. The Southwest Legacy Titans fell just short of the Rowe Warriors by a score of 56-53 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Titans have suffered since November 21st.

Southwest Legacy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of David Cavazos, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 17 points in addition to five boards and three steals, and Jordan Rodriguez, who posted 14 points. That's the most points Rodriguez has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Giovanni Aranda, who had ten points and eight rebounds.

Southwest Legacy's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Rowe, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Southwest Legacy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-43 victory against Pioneer on the 6th. As for Rowe, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-44 win against La Joya on the 6th.
