The Eastwood Troopers entered their tilt with the Franklin Cougars with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Eastwood took down Franklin 58-44 on Friday. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 15 to 7 on the offensive boards, as Eastwood did.
Amaya Williams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Abigail Ortega was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Franklin still got an impressive performance from Caitlynn Clark, who scored 30 points along with six steals. Clark is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for five games straight.
Eastwood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. As for Franklin, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastwood will take on Eastlake at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastwood is coming into the game with three straight wins at home, so Eastlake is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Franklin will take on El Dorado at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Franklin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
