The Clayton Clippers will head out on the road to take on the Sterling Silver Knights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The pair are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Clayton can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They blew past Buena 46-20. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 26-5.
Rainelle Blocker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Blocker is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Jones, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sterling entered their tilt with Paulsboro with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Sterling was the clear victor by a 64-39 margin over Paulsboro. Sterling's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Erin Quinn was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. She also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Montgomery Drahm was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Clayton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Sterling, they pushed their record up to 6-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Clayton have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 39.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Sterling struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 29.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
