For the first time this season, Frankton will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing at home against the Oak Hill Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Frankton will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Frankton barely beat Sheridan the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles blew past the Blackhawks 18-5 on Monday. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.
Finn Cress looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Shaun Jarrett and Caine Oakley did most of the damage at the plate: Jarrett went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double, while Oakley got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Oakley has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaden Clem, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Frankton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Oak Hill came up short against Western on Monday and fell 8-4. The loss continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.
Trenner Boswell was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Pearce, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Oak Hill now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Frankton, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Frankton took their win against Oak Hill in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
