The Medina Valley Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Winn Mavericks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Medina Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Winn likes a good challenge.
Even though Southwest Legacy scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, Medina Valley still came out on top. Medina Valley had just enough and edged Southwest Legacy out 59-57.
Meanwhile, Winn pushed their score all the way to 73 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 85-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southwest Legacy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (62), Winn still had to take the loss.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from David Rodriguez, who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jovan Jimenez, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds.
Medina Valley's victory bumped their record up to 10-21. As for Winn, they now have a losing record at 16-17.
Medina Valley came up short against Winn when the teams last played back in January, falling 66-61. Can Medina Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
