The Queensbury Spartans waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with 14 straight wins but they left with 15. They walked away with a 46-39 victory over Broadalbin-Perth. That's another feather in the cap for Queensbury, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Shea Canavan, who scored 24 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Canavan is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dyllan Ray, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Queensbury's victory bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Broadalbin-Perth, their loss dropped their record down to 14-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Queensbury will take on the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while the Spartans have snatched up eight consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season. As for Broadalbin-Perth, they will challenge the Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
