Nash Morgan was his usual excellent self, throwing for 118 yards and three TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Warren Central's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Jonas Green made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Another reason for the win was Warren Central's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Fabian Davenport, Crishun Brown, and Tkylan Wright, who each picked up one sack apiece. Green got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Neshoba Central). They managed a 56-50 victory over Canton on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Rockets sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Warren Central better keep an eye on Alandrick Hathorne. He was instrumental in Neshoba Central's win, rushing for 125 yards and three scores on only seven carries, while also picking up 92 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 92 receiving yards gave Hathorne a new career-high. Denterrious Loggins was another major influence, as he rushed for 117 yards and ran in a TD.
Neshoba Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 341 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 197 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.
Warren Central's record is now 5-2. As for Neshoba Central, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Warren Central has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 226 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Neshoba Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 210.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Warren Central beat Neshoba Central 19-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
