The Round Rock Dragons fell victim to the McNeil Mavericks''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a hard 17-0 fall against the Mavericks. Round Rock was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as McNeil apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
This is the second loss in a row for Round Rock and nudges their season record down to 3-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Vandegrift (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 75% over those games). As for McNeil, their win bumped their record up to 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Round Rock will take on Cedar Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Round Rock is ranked 187th). As for McNeil, they will head out on the road to face off against Stony Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
