5A Region II District 16 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Cedar Ridge moved up to 322 from 412 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region II District 16. A 35-28 win over the Raiders helped the Raiders improve their standing.
Stony Point was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. The Tigers beat McNeil 21-14 earlier in the week.
Round Rock Westwood's dynamic duo of Bear Fenimore and Ty Marshall proved tough for Round Rock to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fenimore threw for 172 yards and Marshall had 69 yards receiving. Drew Hillhouse helped Round Rock Westwood's passing attack out by catching two balls for 48 yards.
Damian Lindley was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 96 yards on 15 carries as Stony Point topped the Dragons. Teammate Jordan Tonkins added to the ground attack by rushing for 50 yards.
On the ground, Craig Chessher's team's Lindley has rushed for 320 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Marshall. The Round Rock Westwood star has 52 catches for 424 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Hendrickson takes on the Tigers. The Hawks are in fourth place, while Stony Point is in second place.
Hendrickson led the league in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on Cedar Ridge.
