Shades Valley is 0-3 against Pell City since April of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Shades Valley Mounties will host the Pell City Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Monday, Shades Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Ramsay and fell 11-10. The loss was the Mounties' first of the season.

Carleigh Blackwell was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Trinity Bethune was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Even though they lost, Shades Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ramsay struck out 12 times.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pell City). They blew past Oxford 15-5 on Monday. The Panthers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2024.
Reese Edwards looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kherington Keith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Humphreys, who scored three runs while going 1-for-5.
Pell City is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Shades Valley fell to 2-1.
Pell City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Shades Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .603. It's a different story for Pell City, though, as they've only averaged .356. Will they be able to contain Shades Valley's hitters?
Shades Valley came up short against Pell City in their previous meeting back in May of 2022, falling 5-1. Will Shades Valley have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
