The Palmer Trinity Falcons entered their tilt with the NSU University Sharks with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Palmer Trinity blew past NSU University, posting a 52-8 win at home. That looming 52-8 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Palmer Trinity yet this season.
Palmer Trinity found their leader in underclassman Sofia Laria, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Laria scored 15 or more points. Jade Leon was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Palmer Trinity's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-6. As for NSU University, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmer Trinity won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cardinal Gibbons at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Cardinal Gibbons is on a three-game streak of home wins, Palmer Trinity a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. NSU University is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Chaminade-Madonna at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Chaminade-Madonna comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
