The Jefferson Panthers can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They blew past East Helena 79-51 on the road. Jefferson's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Jefferson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cameron Toney led the charge by scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Toney has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. MacKenzie Layng was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with seven assists and four steals.
The victory was the 11th in a row for Jefferson, bringing their record for this year to 11-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for East Helena, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Jefferson will be playing at home against Lone Peak at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lone Peak will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Montana Rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Jefferson is ranked ninth). As for East Helena, they will head out on the road to square off against Beaverhead County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beaverhead County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three matches.
