The biggest upset of the week belonged to Frazier, who took down 364th ranked Avella, 20-13.
Bethlehem Center extended the longest winning streak in WPIAL A Tri-County South this week by beating Jefferson-Morgan, 38-7. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Bulldogs.
Bethlehem Center's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Gino Faieta threw for 78 yards and Anthony Gilpin had 37 yards receiving. On the ground Cody Durant chipped in 187 yards. Durant helped Bethlehem Center's passing attack out by catching three balls for 24 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Faieta of Ed Woods' team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 558. He has also thrown four touchdowns. On the ground, the Rockets' Dustin Conti has rushed for 760 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Zack Thompson. The Avella star has 11 catches for 343 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bulldogs take on the Commodores. Bethlehem Center is currently in first, while Frazier is in fourth.
The Bulldogs moved up to 228 from 281 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in WPIAL A Tri-County South. A 38-7 win over Jefferson-Morgan helped Bethlehem Center improve its standing.
