North Putnam is 1-6 against Sullivan since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The North Putnam Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Sullivan Golden Arrows at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully North Putnam focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, North Putnam suffered a tough 60-38 loss at the hands of Edgewood. North Putnam has struggled against Edgewood recently, as their game on Saturday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, North Putnam saw an underclassman step up: Melanie Davies scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Samie Hoops, who scored 6 points.
Northview typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday Sullivan proved too difficult a challenge. Sullivan secured a 36-30 W over Northview.
North Putnam now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Sullivan, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
North Putnam took a serious blow against Sullivan when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 66-23. Thankfully for North Putnam, Avery Wiltermood (who scored 20 points along with 4 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
