The Mount Union Trojans will square off against the Glendale Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Glendale took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mount Union, who comes in off a win.
Mount Union is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Moshannon Valley 13-2 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Black Knights/Damsels: they've now won six in a row.
Ke' Andra Wible made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs. Those RBI were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Payton Williams was excellent, going 3-for-4 with five runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydnee Harris, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Mount Union was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
DuBois Central Catholic hit Glendale with a five-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings lost 12-1 to the Cardinals. The Vikings have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Glendale's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mount Union, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Mount Union was able to grind out a solid win over Glendale when the teams last played back in May of 2025, winning 9-5. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
