North Pointe Prep took care of business in their home opener. They steamrollered Heritage Academy 70-0. North Pointe Prep was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Senior Joe Soriano-Garfias, who rushed for 167 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. Senior Nijel Rosado was in the mix, too, providing North Pointe Prep with with 2 touchdowns. This was the first game for both teams, giving North Pointe Prep a 1-0 record and starting Heritage Academy off at 0-1.
Next week, North Pointe Prep take on Tempe Prep at Location: Sunnyslope HS at 7:00 PM. Keep an eye on the score for this one : both teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up. As for Heritage Academy, they will face of against Camp Verde.
