Jennings County hasn't had much luck against Floyd Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Highlanders at 6:00 p.m. Jennings County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Jennings County got the win against Madison by a conclusive 8-2. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Cubs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Audrey McDonald looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maycie Ward, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riley Byford, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Jennings County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 6-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Floyd Central had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Olympians.
Addy Ware was excellent, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Floyd Central's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Jennings County, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Both Jennings County and Floyd Central just can't seem to miss. The Panthers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Floyd Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
