The Skyview Wolverines will square off against the Montbello Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Skyview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Skyview had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Overland on Thursday. The Wolverines blew past the Blazers 21-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolverines considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Marcus Archuleta was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carlos Carrillo, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Andrew Casillas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four runs, one double, and one RBI.
Skyview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Montbello scored first but ultimately less than Vista PEAK Prep in their matchup on Friday. They came up short against the Bison, falling 13-3. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Montbello saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Corian Witcher, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Skyview has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Montbello, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Skyview might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Montbello in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Will the Wolverines have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
