Sterling is a perfect 9-0 against Quincy since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Golden Warriors will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. Quincy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sterling, who comes in off a win.
Sterling took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Moline 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Golden Warriors in their matchups with the Maroons: they've now won five in a row.

Lily Martinez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lily Cantu, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaity Taylor, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Quincy came up short against Liberty on Wednesday and fell 5-2. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Quincy also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Carlee Gilker gave up three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits.
On the hitting side, Avary Hlubek was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Maycee Seward was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Sterling's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Quincy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Everything went Sterling's way against Quincy in their previous matchup on April 1st, as Sterling made off with a 10-2 victory. Do the Golden Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
