Basketball Recap: Berwick Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Berwick extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Azyria Garrison. The Berwick Panthers walked away with a 44-36 victory over the Franklin Hornets on Friday thanks in part to Garrison, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Berwick's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Taylor, who posted four points. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.

Berwick has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.1 points per game. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Berwick will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Erath at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Berwick's defense has only allowed 26.7 points per game this season, so Erath's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Franklin, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 53-28 victory against Hanson Memorial on the 21st.
