Wylie East waltzed into their contest  on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with  an   8-3  win over the Abilene Eagles.
 Isabella Flores made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-low in  hits (zero). She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run. That  triple marked the first that  she  hit this season.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Gabby Flores, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Jayleigh Dressler, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 Wylie East was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .400. They are  a perfect 4-0 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Wylie East now  has a winning record of 6-5. As for Abilene, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record  this season.
 Wylie East is taking a road trip to  challenge Trinity  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Wylie East's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2  runs per game  this season, so Trinity's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Abilene, they will take on Dripping Springs in a tournament  on Saturday.
