Softball Recap: Palmer Trinity Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Fans were treated to a battle of the Falcons on Tuesday. Palmer Trinity were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over Ferguson. The result was nothing new for Palmer Trinity, who have now won three matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Hailey Rodriguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Gina Marie Pineda was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Francesca Rivero also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Palmer Trinity hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ferguson struck out 15 times.

Palmer Trinity pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. As for Ferguson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmer Trinity will square off against Palmetto at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Palmer Trinity's pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so Palmetto's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ferguson, they will face off against Coral Gables at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coral Gables has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.8 runs per game on average), something Ferguson will no doubt try to take advantage of.
