Volleyball Recap: Harrison Falls Short Against Ranked North Forsyth

Harrison faced North Forsyth in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Hoyas fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 2-1. If the Hoyas were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Raiders when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Harrison sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-21, 23-25, 15-7.

Harrison's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Addison Cooley, who had 17 digs and three assists, and Emma Gallegos, who had 13 digs. Cooley is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Addie Rose Nichols also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

North Forsyth found their leader in freshman Lyla Jane Craft, who had five aces and three digs.

The defeat snapped Harrison's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-6 record. As for North Forsyth, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

Harrison has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Wesleyan on the 23rd. As for North Forsyth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against North Oconee on the 23rd.
