The Sissonville Indians waltzed into their match Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Poca 50-22 on the road. Given Sissonville's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Poca is ranked 80th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sissonville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kynadee Britton, who scored 19 points along with four steals. The matchup was Britton's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makinley Britton, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Sissonville pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Poca, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sissonville is on the road again on Thursday and play against Lewis County at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. One thing working in Lewis County's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Poca, they will head out on the road to face off against Clay County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
