Glen Allen is 8-2 against Hermitage since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Jaguars will head out to square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m.
Glen Allen is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Godwin on Wednesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Surprisingly, this marked the Jaguars' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hermitage, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against John Marshall on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-2 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Panthers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Nathan Legano made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan O'Brien, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brody Davis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Hermitage always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Glen Allen's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4. As for Hermitage, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-8.
Glen Allen took their win against Hermitage when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-2 score. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
