The Highlands Latin Highlanders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Whitefield Academy 55-7. Highlands Latin was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-3.
Whitefield Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sara Ritter, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ritter has scored all season. Noel Smith was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Highlands Latin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Whitefield Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
Highlands Latin will be playing in front of their home fans against Portland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Whitefield Academy, they will face off against Brown at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
