The Lugoff-Elgin Demons are taking a road trip to  take on the Sumter Gamecocks  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Lugoff-Elgin has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Lugoff-Elgin's last matchup with Catawba Ridge could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's  matchup on Friday. Lugoff-Elgin came up short against  Catawba Ridge, falling  18-0. The Demons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Lugoff-Elgin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Carley Bell, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with one  double. That  double marked the first that  Bell  hit this season.
Meanwhile,  everything went Sumter's way against Spring Valley on Thursday as Sumter made off with  a  14-4 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Gamecocks.
  Kiley Laux was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with four  RBI and two  runs. That's the most  runs  she has posted  over her last ten  games. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sydney Rhodes, who  scored two  runs and  stole  Two bases. while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Lugoff-Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Sumter, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3-1.
 Everything went Lugoff-Elgin's way against Sumter in their previous meeting  back in March of 2020, as Lugoff-Elgin made off with  a  10-3 win. Does  Lugoff-Elgin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sumter turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
