Orange Glen is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Crawford is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Orange Glen Patriots will take on the Crawford Colts at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Orange Glen didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Tri-City Christian, but they still walked away with a 38-32 victory.
Bowyn Cannon went supernova for Orange Glen, rushing for 418 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per carry. Cannon is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Angel Rios, who rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Crawford sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-44 win over Hoover on Friday.
It was another big night for Joseph Minchello, who rushed for 279 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. Phillip Huynh was another key contributor, throwing for 183 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.
Orange Glen has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Crawford, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Orange Glen has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 256.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Crawford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 203.8 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Orange Glen ended up a good deal behind Crawford in their previous matchup back in August of 2015, losing 24-8. Will Orange Glen have more luck at home instead of on the road?
