The Leading Edge Academy - GEC Spartans had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They really took it to Madison Highland Prep for the full four quarters, racking up a 85-57 victory on the road. Considering Leading Edge Academy - GEC has won five contests by more than 20 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Edge Academy - GEC got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Samuel Sutherland out in front who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds. Sutherland is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Graham-Morrow, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Leading Edge Academy - GEC pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Madison Highland Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6.
After both having extra time off, Leading Edge Academy - GEC and Gilbert Classical Academy will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Madison Highland Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Desert Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
