The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. Lewis Central will be playing at home against Carroll at at 7:00 PM on Friday. Carroll will need to watch out since Lewis Central have now posted big point totals in their last nine contests.
Last Friday, Lewis Central put the finishing touches on their 9th blowout victory of the season. They took the matchup and then some with a 52-7 win over A-D-M. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-0.
Meanwhile, Carroll brought a four-game winning streak into their game against Dallas Center-Grimes last Friday; they left with a five-game streak. Carroll narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Dallas Center-Grimes 10-7. The margin of victory was a little narrower than expected seeing as Carroll are ranked 107 places ahead of Dallas Center-Grimes in the state rankings.
Their wins bumped Carroll to 6-3 and Lewis Central to 9-0. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Carroll and Lewis Central clash.
