If Davis were riding high off their 38-6 takedown of Comanche last Friday, that ride came to an abrupt end. Davis fell to Coalgate 6-20. Davis' low-scoring defeat was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the contest before.
Davis' loss pushes them down to 2-7. The victory makes it two in a row for Coalgate and bumps their record up to 7-1.
The teams are both focusing on improving their conference standings in their upcoming contests. Davis will square off against Marietta at 7:30 PM next week. As for Coalgate, they will go up against Tishomingo. Tishomingo took a loss in their last match and are no doubt out to reverse Coalgate's good fortune.
