The Newton South Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Wayland Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Newton South is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Back in January, Newton South came up short against Lincoln-Sudbury and fell 57-49.
Meanwhile, Wayland scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They strolled past Innovation Academy with points to spare, taking the game 64-46. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Newton South's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Wayland, their victory ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-11.
Newton South couldn't quite finish off Wayland when the teams last played back in January of 2023 and fell 57-54. Can Newton South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
