If The Campbell Spartans were riding high off their 41-14 takedown of the Pebblebrook Falcons last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Campbell was beaten by Carrollton 63-7 on Friday. Campbell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-7.
Despite the loss, Campbell saw an underclassman step up: Marlon May rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown. May's longest rush was for an incredible 88 yards.
Campbell has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Carrollton, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Campbell will take on Westlake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westlake presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Campbell in Georgia (Westlake is ranked 11th, while Campbell is ranked 173rd). Carrollton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th.
