The Douglass Astros lost against the Sandy Creek Patriots back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Douglass suffered a tough 66-43 loss at the hands of Sandy Creek. Douglass has not had much luck with Sandy Creek recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Douglass still got an impressive performance from Joshua Mickell, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javonte Floyd, who scored six points along with three blocks.
Douglass' loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Sandy Creek, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Douglass will take on Cedar Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sandy Creek, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on St. Anne-Pacelli at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th.
