Middle Creek is a perfect 3-0 against Enloe since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Middle Creek Mustangs will be playing at home against the Enloe Eagles at 6:30 p.m. The last three games Middle Creek has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Middle Creek took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Apex Friendship, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Middle Creek narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Apex Friendship 3-2. The three-run effort marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Middle Creek got a great performance from Ryan Morris as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, Morris gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Will Tobin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Enloe entered their tilt with Hillside on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Hornets.
William ?Will? Modlin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Modlin was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other pitching news, Cole Thomas tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Elijah ?Eli? Ferguson was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Dylan Hazen, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Middle Creek's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Enloe, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Everything went Middle Creek's way against Enloe in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Middle Creek made off with a 15-0 victory. Will Middle Creek repeat their success, or does Enloe have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
