The Bland County Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 27 points or more this season. They breezed by Eastern Montgomery at home to the tune of 55-23. This was payback for Bland County, who suffered a 50-25 loss the last time these two teams met.
Bland County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Danielle Sanders, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Sanders hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Tinley Worley was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with four steals.
The victory got Bland County back to even at 5-5. As for Eastern Montgomery, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bland County's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fort Chiswell at 7:15 p.m. on January 8th. Fort Chiswell is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Eastern Montgomery, they will be playing at home against Narrows at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
