The Harrison Central Red Rebels waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They breezed by Jefferson Davis County on the road to the tune of 72-37. Given Harrison Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Jefferson Davis County is ranked 145th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Aujaylen Barron, who scored 27 points along with three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaun Murray, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Harrison Central is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Jefferson Davis County, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
Harrison Central will be playing at home against St. Martin at 7:30 a.m. on Monday. St. Martin is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses. As for Jefferson Davis County, they will head out on the road to take on Magee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
