The Guyer Wildcats will challenge the Byron Nelson Bobcat at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a nine-game winning streak alive.
Guyer is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Dallas Jesuit 34-14. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Guyer relied on the efforts of Kaedyn Cobbs, who rushed for 70 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries, and Carter Morgan, who threw for 114 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Those two passing touchdowns gave Morgan a new career-high.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Guyer was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 234 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in 16 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Guyer didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Paxton Wiliams and Darrien Neal. Wiliams is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Byron Nelson). They breezed past Eastwood to the tune of 62-29 on Friday. Given the Bobcat's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Troopers are ranked 156th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Guyer better keep an eye on Parker Almanza. He was instrumental in Byron Nelson's win, throwing for 183 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushing for 74 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Kooper Kennimer, who rushed for 103 yards and one score on only 13 carries.
Guyer's record is now 10-2. As for Byron Nelson, their record now sits at an identical 10-2.
Thursday's game might be decided on the ground. Guyer has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 225.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Byron Nelson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 148.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Guyer strolled past Byron Nelson in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a score of 59-41. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bobcat's Jake Wilson, who threw for 382 yards and five TDs, and also rushed for 34 yards. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for the Wildcats to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
