Two weeks ago, Cornerstone Christian Academy blew past Tribe W, posting a 52-22 win at home. Given Cornerstone Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while Tribe W is ranked 1345th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cornerstone Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Reagan Gardner out in front who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Cali Engram, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Humble Christian entered their tilt with Family Christian with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Humble Christian blew past Family Christian 49-11 on the road on Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-2.
Humble Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abby Bledsoe led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Bledsoe scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly McMullen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
Cornerstone Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Humble Christian, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4.
Cornerstone Christian Academy strolled past Humble Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 28-12. Will Cornerstone Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Humble Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
