Basketball Recap: Lexington Piles Up the Points Against Catawba Ridge

Lexington had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They really took it to the Catawba Ridge Copperheads for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-23 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lexington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Izzy Saville, who posted nine points in addition to five assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Harry, who put up ten points and five steals.

Saville wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Lexington was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Catawba Ridge only racked up five assists.

Despite the loss, Catawba Ridge still got an impressive performance from Brooke Berninzoni, who had five points and five boards.

Lexington pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.5 points. As for Catawba Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Lexington will host Irmo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Catawba Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Indian Land at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
