Softball Recap: Hoquiam Wins Going Away Against Ilwaco

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pe Ell/Willapa Valley, Hoquiam was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Ilwaco Fishermen as they made off with a 13-6 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Grizzlies needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Hoquiam is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-14-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Ilwaco, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-7-1.

Coming up, Hoquiam will head out to challenge Raymond/South Bend at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Ravens have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.43 runs per game on average), something the Grizzlies will no doubt try to take advantage of. Ilwaco does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
