Adams Central had lost five straight on the road, but  on Thursday they dropped down to 11-15 to make it six. They fell  3-1 to the Southern Wells Raiders. The Flying Jets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in October of 2024.
As for Southern Wells, their  victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 16-14. Winning may never get old, but they sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
 Southern Wells' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Bailey Jenkins, who  had 16  digs and one  assist. Those  16  digs gave  Jenkins a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Abbie Powell, who  hit 63.6% for 23  kills and 14  digs, four  aces,  and three  blocks.
 Coming up, Adams Central will challenge Union County at 9:00  a.m.  on Saturday. As for Southern Wells, they will square off against Wes-Del at 8:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
