The Marshall Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 83-42 loss at the hands of Steele. While losing is never fun, Marshall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 896th, while Steele is ranked 85th).
Despite the loss, Marshall still got an impressive performance from Jayden Flores, who scored 17 points. Jai Lopez was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Steele, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Southside the next time they take the court. Marshall will head out to face Southside at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, while Steele will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
